One month ago I loaded up a 15ft Penske truck and drove over 450 miles down I-75 from Cincinnati to Atlanta.
When I crossed the state line into Georgia, it didn’t feel real that I was back. When I hung out with my amazing family, it didn’t feel real that I was back. When I caught up with friends for brunch/dinner/drinks, it didn’t feel real that I was back. Even when I started my fantastic new job, it didn’t feel real that I was back.
The weeks leading up to my move and new job were insanely hectic and stressful. So when I actually moved, I was just constantly exhausted. My mind and body were like, “Where are we? What are we doing? Are we just visiting here?”
But now, I’ve adjusted…for the most part. I’m starting to get a routine. I’m visiting some of my favorite places and discovering new ones. I’m even housing hunting! And I no longer feel like I’m just visiting.
I miss my Cincy peeps, but I’m ecstatic to be living so close to my family and Atlanta friends again. I’m beyond THANKFUL to be home for Thanksgiving for the first time in 4 years. P.S. not having to travel for the holidays is the bees knees!
So am I back? Heck yeah!!!!
